On the evening of March 23, the Embassy, along with Japan's Honorary Consul General in Malta, held a ceremony entitled 'Power of Solidarity' at the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Valletta, and approximately 100 people from the government, the business and cultural circles as well as foreign delegations in Malta attended. In his kickoff speech Ambassador Kohno emphasised the recovery efforts of Japan and expressed the gratitude to Malta and its people for their support to Japan during and after the disaster.
During the first half of the ceremony there were koto-performance by Ms. Yoko Nishi and a concert by a Japanese soprano Ms. Maki Ota and a Maltese pianist Ms. Gisele Grima. The reception followed the concert along with the photo exhibition of Japan's recovery as well as a stand for promotion of tourism in Japan.
The event carried important messages from Japan's recovery efforts and its gratitude to the supports from Malta and its people.
