Mosaic is an art that has been passed down to us from ancient times, and has particularly flourished in Italy and the Mediterranean region. This exhibition is an endeavor to connect mosaic art to Kyoto in the 21st century with the theme "tsu-na-gu" (which means "to connect"). 
The location, Shimadai Gallery, built in 1883, is a registered national cultural asset, and offers the invaluable experience of viewing a collection of new artists’ work within a traditional machiya (Japanese town house).
